A J.R. Church classic article from June 2004

“With keen biblical insight, Rev. J.R. Church alerted readers twenty years ago to emerging technologies that could be harnessed by the antichrist during the biblical end-times scenario. Mere possibilities in 2004 are quickly becoming a reality in 2024. Rev. Church’s message serves as a harbinger to prepare people for what is coming and as a call for people to prepare for eternity.” —Staff Evangelist Josh Davis

We all knew it would come someday, but we didn’t expect it this soon. When Digital Angel developed a syringe-injected microchip implant for animals, we suspected it might be used in humans someday. Well, it’s here. The Baja Beach Club in Barcelona, Spain is using the chip for their VIP patrons. The Associated Press news article announcing the new method of admitting and payment said that it was “like a scene out of a science-fiction movie,” but didn’t mention the biblical implications written in the book of Revelation almost two thousand years ago.

The article said, “All it takes is a syringe-injected microchip implant for the beautiful men and women of the nightclub scene to breeze past a “reader” that recognizes their identity, credit balance and even automatically opens doors to exclusive areas of the club for them.”

It’s being touted as the in-thing for “beautiful men?” Oh, and “women?” What is beautiful about having an implant? They tell us that it’s getting popular to have “piercings, tattoos or silicone.” Having an implanted microchip for personal identification is just one more popular thing to do.

According to the PR puff piece, these VIPs can “buy drinks and food with a wave of their hand and don’t need to worry about losing a credit card or wallet.” Conrad K. Chase, director of the Baja Beach Club said, “By simply passing by our reader, the Baja Beach Club will know who you are and what your credit balance is… From the moment of their implantation, they will also have free entry and access to the VIP area.” Chase calls the chip implant the wave of the future.

The Baja Beach Club boasts a dance floor that can accommodate 3,000 people. The implants will make doing business easier and quicker. This is only the first firm to use the “VeriPay System.” In time, it could be as popular as VISA or MasterCard. Unlike plastic, the implanted chip is automatically safeguarded against theft and identity fraud.

Applied Digital’s VeriChip Corp. developed the chip some years ago for use in animals for pet identification. Proven safe in animals, the chip is headed for stardom in Europe. Not only did the “old country” build an “unfinished tower of Babel” for the European Parliament and use a “woman riding a beast” as the new motif, they also want to be the first to use something akin to the “mark of the beast” for commerce, and nobody’s complaining!

The Palm Beach-based company unveiled the VeriChip immediately after the 9-11 terrorist attacks on the United States. It seemed the perfect solution to personal identification. Terrorism just seems to make political enslavement easier for the general public to accept. Right now, it looks like the coming one-world government crowd needs the terrorists to help push their agenda. If there were no terrorists or rogue nations, there would be no need for a New World Order.

How It Works: The implantable chip contains a radio. transmitter that can be activated and read from a few feet away by a scanner. Information can also be written to the chip as well. Each chip contains a unique 10-digit identification number. The concept is so novel, that the news media jumped on the bandwagon to hype it to the public. It made the worldwide news headlines in 2001.

Ark Kranzley, senior vice president at MasterCard, had nice things to say about it: “We’re certainly looking at designs like key fobs. It could be in a pen or a pair of earrings. Ultimately, it could be embedded in anything someday, maybe even under the skin.”

A nightclub director has been implanted along with stars from the Spanish version of the TV show Big Brother. Chase said. “I know many people who want to be implanted. Actually, almost everybody has piercings, tattoos or silicone.”

He said, “The objective of this technology is to bring an ID system to a global level that will destroy the need to carry ID documents and credit cards.”

During an interview on American radio, the CEO of VeriChip, Dr. Keith Bolton said that the company’s goal was to market the VeriChip as a global implantable identification system. Chase added, “The VeriChip that we implant at Baja will not only be for the Baja but is also useful for whatever other enterprise that makes use of this technology.”

It matters not how long this type of technology will take to be used worldwide, the book of Revelation does not say how widespread the mark will become, only that it will be implemented during the Tribulation Period.

Logistically, three and a half years, or even seven years, is not enough time to implant every human on the planet. However, if it is used in modern industrialized nations, leaving the poorer countries for a later time, the biblical description is still quite adequate. Though we are not given the particulars in Scripture, we are told that a mark on the right hand or forehead will lead to an economic medium of exchange and that it will be intricately connected to a numerical system of identification.

Have you heard someone say that Jesus might not come back for another 500 years? Wake up! The mark of the beast is coming down the tracks like a freight train.

Just so people cannot take up arms against such a worldwide dictatorship, plans are in the works to make firearms that will only function under the control of implantable chips. Only the particular gun assigned to an individual owner’s number can be functional. A scanner in the gun would be designed to recognize the owner.

Automobiles are already being programmed to recognize their owners. Pretty soon, car thieves will have to become either high-tech or honest—one or the other.

Meanwhile, in Barcelona, the VeriChip is gaining a following of enthusiastic “early adopters.”

“Everyone embraced the electronic payment application,” Chase said. “My customers like the fact that they do not have to carry a credit card or ID card with them. With the VeriPay system, they no longer have to worry about their credit cards getting lost or stolen.”
